This conserved settee was made from solid mahogany and was built in the 1920's. It arrived at Hander Woodworking with a broken top right final, a broken right-center front leg and stretcher bar as well as loose stretcher bars through out the base. The medallions on the settee back were supported in place with four stretcher bars, (seen only from behind) running north, south, east and west to the settee frame. The south stretcher bar, supporting the center medallion, was split and missing a piece at the bottom dowel joint which required replacement of the missing section. The left and center pressed cane panels were torn, requiring removal, replacement and color matching. Much of the broken leg top was missing, requiring replacement of that portion as well.
